Fresh starts and decluttering

Spring is in the air and it’s got us thinking about fresh starts and new beginnings.

Now is the perfect time of year to get out and about and see all the new life springing up around you as flowers begin to bloom and lambs frolic in the fields.

Fresh air is great for promoting good sleep, so you can enjoy the extra hours of sunlight that this season brings before relaxing at home with a soothing mug of Horlicks to ease you off to sleep.

The BBC’s Springwatch programme is a great starting point for finding out more about the emerging wildlife you can expect to see as you’re out and about on countryside walks this season. Visit their web pages at

Sweet dream tips

All the new life springing up around us is enough to get us thinking it’s time we brought some spring into our lives too. A great way to clear the mind and feel refreshed is by giving your home a mini spring clean with a spot of feng shui.

Feng shui is the ancient Chinese practice of arranging objects in a way that creates harmony with one’s environment.

You don’t need to be spiritual to see the benefit of de-cluttering your home to feel calmer and rearranging furniture so that you get the most of the increased hours of daylight.

Another useful feng shui tip that you could try to incorporate into your mini spring clean is not having a television in your room. As well as being good feng shui, not having a TV in your room will aid restful sleep if you read instead of watching programmes before bed.
